You will need enough pie pastry for a double crust pie.
Put;
1-1/2 cups boiling water and
3/4 cup brown sugar
in a 8 or 9 inch square cake pan.
Recipe
Have the pie dough rolled out to a rectangle, using the same thickness as for a pie.
Peel and slice enough apples to almost cover pastry. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon or nutmeg, if desired.
Roll up as for a jelly roll. Slice about 1-1/2 inches thick, place in pan putting cut end on bottom. Place close together.
Bake in a preheated 400ºF oven, until golden brown. Serve while hot with whipped cream, ice cream, cheese or as they are.
Note:- You could also substitute a Sweet Biscuit Dough for the pastry.
