Recipe Introduction
One of my favorite all time cookies!
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1-1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2-2/3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
- Beat butter and shortening till light
- Add 1-1/2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy
- Beat in eggs and vanilla
- Sift together flour, tartar, soda and salt and add to beaten mixture and mix well
- Combine rest of sugar and the cinnamon and set aside
- Shape dough in 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture
- Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes
Final Comments
You may substitute 3 tsp. of baking powder for the tartar AND soda
