    One of my favorite all time cookies!


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
    • 1/2 c. shortening
    • 1-1/2 c. sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 2-2/3 c. flour
    • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
    • 1 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 2 tbsp. sugar
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Beat butter and shortening till light
    2. Add 1-1/2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy
    3. Beat in eggs and vanilla
    4. Sift together flour, tartar, soda and salt and add to beaten mixture and mix well
    5. Combine rest of sugar and the cinnamon and set aside
    6. Shape dough in 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture
    7. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet
    8. Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes


    Final Comments


    You may substitute 3 tsp. of baking powder for the tartar AND soda
