    This is best when mixed by hand. We usually don't ice it, just sprinkle sugar on top right after it comes out of the oven.

    List of Ingredients




    3 cups flour
    2 cups sugar
    6 tbls. cocoa
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup plus 1 tbls. melted shortening or vegetable oil
    2 tbls vinegar
    2 cups water

    Recipe



    Mix together the dry ingredients, then stir in the wet ingredients. Stir until well blended. Pour into a 9x13 cake pan.

    Bake 350 for 30-35 minutes.
