    Our favorite sugar cookie recipe.

    List of Ingredients




    1 Cup shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    2 Cups sugar
    1 egg, well beaten
    5 Cups flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 Cup milk

    Recipe



    Combine shortening, salt, vanilla, and baking soda. Add sugar gradually and cream well. Add beaten egg and mix. Sift flour with baking powder and add to creamed mixture; alternating with milk, mixing well.

    Roll out and cut into shapes.

    Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes; or until edges are very light golden brown.
