    Dirt Cake

    Source of Recipe

Aunt Robin (one of Kim's favorites)

    Recipe Introduction

This is a delicious dessert that can be made extra fun by putting worm (gummy worms of course) in small holes made in the top of the dirt cake. You can also use holiday candies to "liven it up".

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 Stick Butter, Melted
    • 8 oz. Softened Cream Cheese
    • 1/2 C. Powdered Sugar
    • 2 Sm. Packages Vanilla Pudding
    • 3 1/2 C. Milk
    • 12 Oz. Cool Whip
    • 1 Bag Oreos - Pulverized (Smash in a thick plastic bag)

    Instructions

    1. In a very large bowl, mix together with a mixer the butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar.
    2. In another bowl mix together the pudding, milk and cool whip.
    3. Blend the 2nd mixture into the first mixture using a spoon.
    4. Cover the bottom of a 9 x 13 or larger dish with some of the Oreo pieces.
    5. Pour the mixture on top of the Oreo pieces and spread out evenly.
    6. Top with the remaining Oreo pieces right before serving.
    7. Keep refrigerated.

    Notes:
Best to make the day you need to have it.

The larger the dish the thinner the cake.

I make this low calorie by using lite cream cheese and cool whip (not fat free - it doesn't work well), 2% milk, sugar free pudding, and reduced fat Oreos. It's a great dessert with a great flavor!!
