Georgia Sweet Potato Pie

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
2 cups sweet potatoes -- boiled and mashed
4 ounces whiskey -- optional
1 lemon (juice and

1 teaspoon mace
2 unbaked 8-inch pie shells
whipped cream
Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, sweet potatoes, whiskey, lemon, and mace. Pour into unbaked pie shells. Cook at 375 degrees F. for 50 minutes.
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
