    Potato Topped Meatloaf


    one 12 oz. jar heinz homestyle brown or beef gravy
    1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
    1 cup soft bread crumbs
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash pepper
    2 1/2 cups hot mashed potatoes
    1 T. melted butter or margarine
    paprika

    Recipe




    Measure 1/4 cup gravy from jar; combine with beef, next five ingredients.

    Shape into a loaf, 8x4 inches, in shallow baking pan.

    Bake at 350, 1 hour.

    Carefully drain fat. Spread potatoes over top, sides of meatloaf.

    Drizzle melted butter over potatoes; sprinkle with paprika.

    Bake an additional 20 minutes.

    Let stand 5 minutes.

    Heat remaining gravy, serve with meatloaf slices.
