Slow-Cooked Spaghetti Sauce

1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cans (14½ oz. each) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
1 can (6oz) tomato paste
1 bay leaf
1 T brown sugar
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 to 2 tsp dried basil
1 to 2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp salt
½ to 1 tsp thyme
Recipe
In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to a slow cooker. Add the other ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours. Discard bay leaf. Serve over spaghetti.
