    Soft Oatmeal Cookies
    1/2 c. white sugar
    2 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. margarine
    2 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 eggs
    Nuts if desired

    Boil raisins 10 min.(water to cover), Should make 5 Tbl. liquid. Cream sugar, shortening and margarine. Add salt eggs, raisin liquid, oatmeal, flour, spices, soda, vanilla, raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet...press down with cookie press dipped in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
