1 pkg. Betty Crocker hash browns with onions
6 beef cubed steaks
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup catsup
1 (8 oz) pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 English muffins, split, toasted and buttered
Recipe
Prepare potatoes as directed on package until lightly crispy. In large skillet over medium heat, brown steaks in hot cooking fat 3-5 minutes on each side. Remove from heat; sprinkle with salt. Spread each with 2 teaspoons catsup. Top each with 1/2 cup potatoes and 3 tablespoons of cheese. Place each "haystack" on 1/2 English muffin. Cover and cook over low heat 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
