    1 cup crushed tortilla chips
    ½ cup melted butter or margarine
    2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
    1 pint sour cream
    2 eggs
    2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    ½ cup chopped green onions
    1 to 2 cloves minced garlic
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    1 (16-ounce) jar chunky salsa


    Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix tortilla chips and butter. Press into bottom of 9-inch springform pan. Place in shallow baking pan.

    Combine cream cheese, sour cream, and eggs in bowl. Beat until smooth, using electric mixer at medium speed. Stir in cheese, onions, garlic, and pepper. Pour cheese mixture into prepared pan.

    Bake 30 minutes or until set. Cool cheesecake on wire rack. Refrigerate until serving. Remove from pan. Top cheesecake with salsa and cut into wedges Makes 12 servings.
