- 2 1/2 lb. lean ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 (48-oz.) jar chunky garden vegetable spaghetti sauce
- 1 (6-oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (3.8-oz.) can sliced ripe olives, drained
- 12 (6-inch) French rolls, split
- 6 ( 1 1/2-oz.) slices mozzarella cheese, halved
Instructions
- Spray large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Heat over medium-high heat until hot. Add ground turkey, onion and garlic; cook 6 to 8 minutes or until turkey is well browned, stirring frequently. Drain.
- In 3 1/2 to 4-quart slow cooker, combine cooked turkey, onion, garlic, spaghetti sauce, tomato paste and olives; mix well.
- Cover; cook on high setting for 2 hours on low settin for 4 to 5 hours.
- To serve; fill each roll with 1/2 cup turkey mixture and half slice of cheese, cutting to fit.
