    2 cups white corn meal
    ½ cup flour
    2 cups buttermilk
    2 beaten eggs
    ½ cup molasses
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tbs. melted fat
    1 tsp. baking powder

    Recipe




    Mix corn meal, flour and buttermilk gradually. Add fat, molasses and salt, then eggs. Mix soda with a little milk and add to flour mixture. Beat thoroughly.

    Bake for about 45 minutes in a greased deep pan or cast iron skillet.
