1/3 CUP VEGETABLE SHORTENING, 1/8 TEASPOON SALT, 2 CUPS CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR, APPROXIMATELY 2 TABLESPOONS WATER, CREAM THE SHORTENING,AND THE SALT TOGETHER,THEN ADD THE SUGAR AND STIR BRISKLY.STIR IN THE WATER AND BEAT WELL,ADDING MORE SUGAR OR WATER IF NECESSARY TO GET AN EASILY SPREADABLE CONSISTENCY.THIS IS ENOUGH TO FROST AN 8 INCH TWO LAYER CAKE.
