Cherry Chocolate Kiss Cookies

List of Ingredients
1 c powered sugar
1 c (2 sticks) butter
2 tsp maraschino cherry juice
1/2 tsp almond extract
Red food coloring, just a few drops
2 1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
48 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, cherry juice, almond extract and food coloring; blend well. Stir in flour and salt. Add cherries and mix well. Form dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown around edges. Immediately top each cookie with a chocolate kiss. Cool. Makes 48 cookies.
