Doc Lindsey’s Hearty Chili

List of Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 pound Bob Evans Zesty Italian or Hot Sausage
4-6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 white onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
1 Hungarian banana pepper, diced (spicy)
1 packet (1.48 ounces) Lawry’s chili seasoning
1 cup water
1 can (8 ounces) sweet whole kernel corn
1 jar (28 ounces) deluxe mixed beans
1 can (28 ounces) hot chili beans
1 can (28 ounces) kidney beans
2 cans (28 ounces each) diced tomatoes
3 cans (28 ounces each) ground tomatoes
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
3 tablespoons Frank’s Red Hot sauce
Optional: sour cream, shredded cheese, minced green onions Recipe
Brown ground beef and sausage; drain. Add garlic, onion and peppers; mix.
Saute 2-3 minutes; add chili seasoning and water.
Mix in corn, beans and tomatoes. Stir vigorously. Add chili powder, onion salt, garlic salt, black pepper and hot sauce.
Bring to a boil.
Simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Yields 12 servings.
