Fred's zesty maple chili

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. Italian sausage removed from skin
1 large Spanish onion, chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1 red pepper chopped
1 stalk celery chopped
4 cloves garlic minced Salt and pepper to taste
2 cans brown beans
1 can kidney beans
1/2 can Mexican refried beans
1 28 oz. can tomato puree
1 small can tomato paste
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup hot sauce
1/4 cup chili powder
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
Recipe
In a large pot, brown all meat until cooked. Drain fat, add onions and cook until soft. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer on a low boil for 2 hours, remove from heat.
Let cool and put in fridge until next day (this is important). Bring mixture to a boil again before serving. Serves 6.
