- 2 cups Flour
- 3 tsp anise seed
- 1/2 cup almonds, ground fine
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Put 1 tsp anise seed between two sheets of waxed paper and crush with rolling pin. Place flour on a counter top and sprinkle crushed anise seed over it.
- Add almonds and sugar. Mix well, drop in egg yolks one at a time and cut butter into slices over it.
- Knead into smooth dough and refrigerate for 1/2 hour. Take 1 tsp dough at a time and form into crescents.
- Place on greased cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- Mix remaining 2 tsp anise seed with the powdered sugar carefully roll each cookie in it while hot.
