    The Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole

    This is a simple and quick recipe that should get everyone to eat it.

    Tools

    2 Bowls
    Can opener
    Pot
    Strainer
    Hot pads
    Stirring spoon
    Baking pan
    Whisk
    Measuring cup
    Measuring spoon, 1/2 Tsp


    Ingredients

    2 C Medium egg noodles
    1 6 oz can Solid White Albacore in oil, drained and flaked
    1 C Frozen peas
    3/4 C onion, finely chopped
    1 10 1/2 oz can Cream of mushroom soup
    1 10 1/2 oz can of Cream of celery soup
    1/3 C Milk
    1/2 Tsp Black pepper, or more to taste
    1/4 lb Saltine crackers (1 sleeve), crushed
    1 C Parmesan cheese


    Recipe

    Serves: 4
    Time required: Prepare: 20 minutes Cook: 45 minutes
    Oven temperature: 375 degrees
    Difficulty: Easy


    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

    2. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions.

    3. Drain the noodles and place in a large bowl. Add the tuna, peas and onion and toss to combine.

    4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mushroom and celery soups, milk and pepper.

    5. Pour over the noodle mixture, carefully mixing all of the liquid throughout the noodles.

    6. Spread the mixture evenly into a lightly buttered shallow 2-quart casserole.

    7. Sprinkle the crumbled saltines and Parmesan cheese over the top.

    8. Bake until the casserole is piping hot throughout and the top is golden, about 45 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving.


    Serve with

    Crusty bread, green salad, fruit and pie for dessert.


    Variations

    *Add any green or colored vegetables you want.

    *Use crushed potato chips on top.

    *Use bread crumbs on top.

    *Add shredded mozzarella to the top.
