    2 cups sour milk (add 2 teaspoons vinegar to milk and let sit for about 5 minutes!)
    1 cup molasses
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 cup yellow corn meal
    1 3/4 cups Whole Wheat Flour

    Recipe



    Add ingredients in order and mix everything together well. Put in 2 well-greased 1 lb. coffee cans (divide the batter evenly between the cans...it will rise during the steaming, and fill up the cans!) secure aluminum foil over the top (either with a rubber band or tying string around it) steam in a kettle with a rack, over boiling water for 1½ hours
