DIABETIC ONION DIP

6 oz. cottage cheese
2 ½ Tablespoons lemon juice
2 Tablespoons buttermilk
Dash of onion flakes
½ teaspoon garlic salt
food coloring (optional, for "looks")
Recipe
Blend all ingredients together until creamy. Serve with raw vegetables.
Note: If you don't use a lot of buttermilk (and who does, these days?), but you do use it occasionally, in the baker's aisle of your local grocery store, you should be able to find a buttermilk powder. It's put out by Saco, and comes in a can about the size of the smallest can of Crisco. It will keep for a long time in the refrigerator, after opening! OR the lemon juice in the recipe will "sour" regular milk, so simply combine the two, let them set for a few minutes, and then proceed with the recipe.
