1/2 cup (125 ml) Whole Wheat Flour
1 Egg
1/2 cup (125 ml) Unbleached White Flour
1 cup (250 ml) Buttermilk -or- Sour Milk
1 teaspoon (5 ml) Sugar
1 teaspoon (5 ml) Baking Powder
½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) Baking Soda
2 Tablespoons (30 ml) Vegetable Oil
¼ teaspoon (1 ml) Salt
Recipe
Stir together the flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Beat the egg, milk and oil together. Add the liquids to the flour mixture and stir just until blended.
Pour the batter onto a greased hot griddle.
Serve with fresh fruit slices, unsweetened applesauce or low-calorie syrup.
