Seven-Layer Casserole
List of Ingredients
3/4 cup raw Rice
1 can whole kernel Corn
1 (8-oz.) cans Tomato Sauce (divided)
Water
1/2 cup chopped Onion
1/2 cup chopped Green Pepper
1 lb. Ground Meat
1 tsp. Chili Powder
Salt and Pepper to tasteRecipe
Chop the onion and the green pepper.
Preheat the oven to 350-F degrees.
In a casserole dish that can go from the oven to the table, place in layers: rice, corn, 1 can tomato sauce, 1/2 can water, onion, green pepper, and ground meat.
Next, add the chili powder, salt, and pepper. Then pour the other can of tomato sauce and about 1/4 can of water over everything.
Cover the casserole with its lid or with foil. Pop it into the oven for an hour; then carefully - carefully! - pull it out, remove the cover (being careful not to get burned, remember), and bake for another half hour.
