Tiramisu is the most popular Italian dessert which means “pick me up”. The meaning becomes apparent when you analyze what goes into this dessert.

The main ingredients for tiramisu : Mascarpone cheese, coffee and ladyfingers make this cake an ultra nutritious combination.



List of Ingredients




“Pick Me Up”


1 cup coffee, cold
1 pound (500g) mascarpone cheese
5 eggs yolks
1 egg white, whipped
½ cup (100g) raw sugar
¼ cup (60ml) baileys
1 pk ladyfingers
cocoa powder


Recipe




Combine together cheese, eggs yolks, egg white, sugar and baileys in a bowl and mix them very well with a mixer until incorporated.

In a pan place one layer of the cream, dip the ladyfingers into the coffee for 3 4 seconds, one at a time, then transfer them to the pan. Line them up so they are touching each other, until the bottom of the pan is completely covered. Pour one layer of the cream over the ladyfingers and smooth with a rubber spatula. Repeat layers. Finish with the cream and sprinkle with cocoa. Refrigerated overnight.
