Serve this delicious steak over mashed poatoes.
List of Ingredients
Swiss Steak from Dorothy
2 or 3 lbs. of round steak, cut in portions
3 cans of tomato soup
3 or 4 carrots cut in pcs.
1 small green pepper cut in pcs.
1 med. size onion cut in pcs.
2 stalk of celery cut in pcs.
5 cans of water
1/4 cup sugar
pepper (just a sprinkle)
onion powder (a sprinkle)
paprika (a sprinkle)
1/2 cup flower
1 cup water
Recipe
Sauté steak (cut in portions) in roaster until brown on both sides. Add soup and water, also stirring in vegetables, 1/4 cup of sugar, a sprinkle of pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Cover and bake in oven at 300 degrees for about an hr., then at 350 degrees for another l-1/2 hrs. until meat is tender. Next, take out of oven, make a mixture of flour and water, and slowly stir into roaster until liquid slightly thickens (like gravy). Serve steak with Mash potatoes, using the gravy to top. Serve with vegetable of your choice, salad and rolls.
