    1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
    1 pound ground beef
    1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
    1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
    3 English muffins split and toasted

    Reserve 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Mix remaining sauce, ground beef, bread
    crumbs, oregano and salt; mix well. Divide meat in to circles about 1/2
    inch
    thick. Pinch edges of each circle to make a stand up rim. Arrange in a
    circle on a 12 inch plate. Spread reserved sauce over patties. Cover
    loosely
    and microwave on high 5 minutes; until edges are brown and firm; 4 to 7
    minutes longer if necessary. Sprinkle each patty with cheese. Cook about 1
    minute more or until cheese starts to melt. Serve on the muffin halves.
