AUTUMN BREAKFAST BREAD
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
TOPPING:
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. melted shortening
3 tbsp. brown sugar
Blend shortening, sugar and egg until fluffy. Stir in milk alternately with sifted dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Grease an 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Pour mixture into pan. Sprinkle with topping of brown sugar, cinnamon and sugar which has been mixed together. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
