    Granola

    Dried blueberries or cherries may be substituted for fruit bits.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup sunflower seeds(shelled)
    • 1 cup sesame seeds
    • 1 cup flaked coconut
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
    • 1 cup Sunmaid fruit bits
    • 1 cup wheat germ
    • 3 cups oatmeal
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 1 and 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    • 1 cup sliced almonds


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 250 degrees.Mix sunflower seeds, wheat germ, sesame seeds, oatmeal and coconut.
    2. Mix oil, honey, brown sugar and vanilla.Pour over first mixture.Mix thoroughly.Spread evenly in oiled cookie sheet(with sides).
    3. Toast 1 hour at 250 degrees, stirring every 15 minutes.Cool. Stir in almonds and fruit bits.Store in covered container.


    Final Comments


    I have given this for a gift in a pretty glass jar with a ribbon tied around the top.The recipients really liked it.
