Strawberry Jam Cupcakes

1 C sugar
1/2 C shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 C sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 C sour milk
1 C strawberry jam
1/4 tsp. baking powderRecipe
Preheat oven to 350°.
Cream sugar with shortening until fluffy. Add eggs
and blend.
Sift flour, salt, and spices together and add alternately
with milk to creamed mixture. Fold in jam and bake in greased muffin pans.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Remove from pans and ice with favorite frosting.
Makes 20 cupcakes.
