Cauldron Dipped Apples

Makes 8 to 10 dipped apples
Ingredients
8 to 10 medium apples, stems removed
8 to 10 wooden ice cream sticks
Peanut Butter Sugar (recipe follows)
2 cups (12-ounce package) HERSHEY'®S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/4 cup shortening (do not use butter, margarine, spread or oil)
2/3 cup REESE'S® Creamy Peanut Butter
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1. Line tray with wax paper. Wash and dry apples; insert wooden stick into stem end of each apple.
2. Prepare Peanut Butter Sugar.
3. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter; stir until melted and smooth. With whisk, blend in powdered sugar.
4. Dip apples into chocolate mixture; twirl gently to remove excess. Sprinkle Peanut Butter Sugar over apples. Place on prepared tray. Refrigerate until coating is firm. Store in refrigerator.
