    1 pounds eye of round beef roast
    1/2 cup soy sauce (light can be used)
    1 cube beef-flavored bouillon
    1 bay leaf
    3 to 4 peppercorns
    1 teaspoon dried, crushed rosemary
    1 teaspoon dried thyme
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    8 French rolls or as many as needed

    Remove and discard all visible fat from roast. Place in a slow cooker. Combine soy sauce, bouillon and spices. Pour over roast. Add water to almost cover roast. Cover and cook at low heat 10 to 12 hours or until meat is very tender. Remove roast from broth. Reserve broth. Shred meat with fork. Serve on hard rolls, hoagie rolls or French bread, with broth as dip. Most any roast can be substituted for eye of round to save money and still get excellent results.
