    Recipe Introduction

This is a recipe that my Mother used to make for us during the summer and on the holidays!!! All of family loved it so much that when ever they were coming over for dinner they would ask for it to be made. As a matter of fact one of my sisters says " It's not Thanksgiving without Mom's Cole Slaw ". Yes, the memories of all of those wonderful turkey sandwiches from the leftovers with a wonderful bowl of cole slaw late on many a Thanksgiving night!!!!

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 large head of Green Cabbage
    • 2/3 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (Hellman's)
    • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Good Season's Bottled Italian Dressing
    • 1 Tablespoon of Sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
    • dash of black pepper

    Instructions

    1. Chop cabbage up into small pieces.( I like the cabbage chopped instead of shredded. It makes a difference in the flavor)Place in a large bowl and set aside.
    2. In a medium sized bowl, mix all of the other ingredients together well and take a taste. If you think it's too sweet add more italian salad dressing if too salty add more sugar.
    3. Then mix the wet ingredients that you have combined in the medium bowl into the cabbage in the large bowl. Stir together well. Let sit in the fridge at least for a couple of hours ( I let mine sit over night) Serve while cold.

    4. Remember if you make this recipe to use on a picinic or for a BBQ remember to keep it cool due to the mayonnaise. Enjoy

    Final Comments

I play around with the amount of milk and mayonnaise that I used when I am making either a larger batch of cabbage (like for a crowd) or smaller amount for just the two of us.
