Monterey Green Beans
3 T butter
½ C onion, chopped
9 oz. pkg frozen french style green beans (I use regular cut)
thawed and drained
½ lb fresh or 4 oz. can sliced mushrooms
½ tsp salt
½ tsp oregano (can omit)
¼ tsp pepper
½ C Monterey Jack cheese or mozzarella cheese, shredded
Cook beans until tender crisp and drain. Cook onion and mushrooms in butter until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except cheese. Heat through. Sprinkle with shredded cheese, cover and let sit until melted. Serve immediately.
