Grape Nuts Pudding

1/2 cup grape nuts cereal
2 1/2 cups warm milk
2 large eggs, or 3 small
1/2 to 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla extract
grated nutmeg (optional)
Recipe
Soak cereal in warm milk for 10 minutes. Beat eggs with fork. Add sugar
to
taste. Add salt, vanilla and cereal -milk mixture. Spoon into a
buttered 5 cup
casserole. If desired, sprinkle top with nutmeg. Set casserole into a
pan
partly filled with water. Bake at 350 for about 1 hour. Stir at least
twice
during the first 20 minutes of baking. Serve warm or chilled. Store
any leftover
pudding in the refrigerator. Serves 4 to 6
