2 lb. chuck roast ($1.98)
1 Tbsp. oil (too small to calculate)
1 lb. potatoes, quartered ($0.20)
4 carrots, in 1" slices ($0.30)
1 onion, chopped ($0.15)
2 tsp. beef bouillon ($0.10)
2 cups hot water
1 Tbsp. crushed thyme ($0.20)
1 clove garlic ($0.05)
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce - optional, gives it zing! ($0.05)
Recipe
Place ingredients in crock pot in this order: potatoes, carrots, onion; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Brown roast on all sides in oil; place on top of vegetables and sprinkle with more salt and pepper. Mix bouillon, water, thyme and garlic; pour over roast. Sprinkle with hot pepper sauce. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
