List of Ingredients
16 ounces dried kidney beans
----Flavor Packet----
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
----Seasoning Packet----
2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried whole oregano
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Recipe
Place beans in a zip lock baggie. Prepare Flavor and Seasoning Packets separately and place in small Ziploc baggie. Directions for preparation:
Chili
Wash and sort beans. Place in a 5-quart Dutch oven and cover with water 2 inches above beans. Soak overnight then drain.
Combine beans, Flavor Packet and 7 cups water in the Dutch oven. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1 pound cooked ground beef, 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce and
Seasoning Packet. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serves 8
