    SAUCE:"Pasketti" Sauce

    List of Ingredients

    1 pound bulk Italian sausage
    1 pound ground beef
    2 Tablespoons olive oil
    8 to 10 large mushrooms, slice thinly as possible
    1 or 2 large cloves garlic
    1 bottle good red wine (I prefer Cabernet Sauvignon)
    2 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning
    1 Tablespoon basil
    1 large can tomato sauce
    2 large cans crushed tomatoes
    1 small can tomato paste
    1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
    1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper

    Recipe

    Saute mushrooms in olive oil until thoroughly cooked. Add garlic, seasonings and 1/2 bottle of wine. Simmer until wine is reduced by half. In large pot brown sausage and beef, drain. Add all tomato products, then mushroom and wine mixture. Add cheese, then sugar and salt. Simmer until ready to eat.
