Applesauce Fritters

List of Ingredients




4 eggs
2 c. applesauce
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
4 1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. oil
oil for frying


Recipe



Mix all wet ingredients. Stir in all dry ingredients, adding in flour a little at a time. Pre-heat oil 3” deep to 375 degrees. Test a drop of mixture in hot oil. Drop spoonfuls of dough into oil and turn as browns. Use a slotted spoon to raise fritters from oil. Drain on paper towels. Shake in a bag of powdered sugar or cinnamon/sugar combination. Eat hot!
