1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 cup sifted cake flour
24 walnut halves
Recipe
With electric mixer at medium speed, thoroughly mix butter with sugar, salt and vanilla until very light and fluffy. At low speed beat in chopped nuts and flour, just until mixed. Refrigerate until easy to handle about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350°. Form dough into small balls; lightly press walnut half into each. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes or 'till done. Makes 2 dozen.
