Raspberry Jam Cake

1 cup raspberry jam
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 eggs beaten
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla and almond extract
1/3 tsp. nutmeg Recipe
Sift the flour, soda, salt and nutmeg. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add jam and beat until smooth. Add extracts and then dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Beat well until blended. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve plain or with a simple white frosting. Enjoy!!!
