Hamburger Noodle Casserole

1 8 oz pkg egg noodles, uncooked
1� lbs. ground round , or 80% lean beef
1 small onion, chopped about � cup
pinch salt
� teaspoon pepper
1 32 oz can sauerkraut, undrained-I use Kroger brand in a plastic bag
2 10 3/4 oz cans condensed cream of chicken soup-or other cream soup
2 cups (8 oz) shredded Swiss cheese-we sometimes use MeunsterRecipe
Heat oven to 350�F. Cook and drain noodles as directed on package. While noodles are cooking, cook beef, onion, salt and pepper in 10" skillet, over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until beef is brown, drain. In ungreased 3 quart casserole, mix noodles, beef mixture, sauerkraut, soup and 1 cup of the cheese. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake uncovered for additional 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted or mix � cup of bread crumbs with 1 cup of Swiss cheese.
