    1 3/4 cups flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1 egg
    Honey Almond Glaze (recipe follows)

    Honey Almond Glaze:
    1/3 cup butter
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/4 cup brandy
    2 Tbsp honey
    3/4 tsp. almond extract
    1 cup sliced almonds

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Prepare glaze. In saucepan, combine butter, sugar, brandy, honey, almond extract and almonds. Bring to full boil, stirring. Set aside to cool slightly while preparing cookies.

    In bowl, mix together flour, sugar and salt. With pastry blender, cut in butter until particles are very fine. Beat egg well with fork, then add to crumb mixture, stirring to mix well. With hands, work mixture until ingredients hold together. Press evenly on bottom of buttered 15x10x1" baking pan.

    Pour glaze over top and spread evenly.

    Bake 20-25 minutes, or until light brown. Cool in pan on cake rack, then cut in 2x1" strips.

    Store airtight in a cool place. Can be frozen. Good keepers and shippers.
