    Homemade Honey Bars

    Recipe Introduction

I really love this recipe. So if you’re hankering for an easy, sweet snack as you watch the election returns come in tonight, how about trying some homemade honey bars? Note the “mayonnaise” listed as a glaze ingredient. That isn’t an error, it really does make for a creamy, sweet glaze on top of these soft, moist honey bars. As the photo accurately shows, the bars do come out relatively thin, but what they lack in thickness they make up for in taste. Enjoy! Kevin

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup sugar
    2 Cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 1 /4 teaspoon cinnamon

    Blended together:
    1 egg lightly beaten
    3/4 cup vegetable oil
    1/4 cup honey
    1 cup nuts

    Glaze

    Recipe

Mix all at once, put in ungreased jelly roll pan, I used a 9×13, if you can't find 12×15. Bake 20 minutes at 350°F. As soon as it comes out of the oven, spread glaze on top.
