Recipe Introduction

Here's a school cafeteria recipe for sugar gems (cookies).

List of Ingredients

2 cups powdered sugar
2 cups white sugar
2 cups salad oil
1 pound butter
4 eggs
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
9 cups flour


Recipe

Cream sugar, butter, and oil until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and blend in well.

Scoop up spoonful, place in colored sugar and place sugared side up on cookie sheet. Press down with glass bottom.

Bake 12-15 minutes in 350°F oven. Makes 80 large cookies.
