3 C. flour
1 C. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 C. shortening
1 1/2 C. chopped walnuts
1 egg beaten
1 1/2 C. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Recipe
Into mixing bowl sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Stir in 1 1/4 C. of the walnuts. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Mix just until ingredients are blended. Turn into greased and floured 9x5" loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining 1\4 C. walnuts over top. Bake at 350°F. for 60-70 minutes or until loaf tests done. Let stand in pan 10 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack to cool. Makes 1 loaf.
