    6 medium potatoes
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 slices bacon
    1 small onion -- chopped
    1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 pound ground beef
    1 quart milk
    salt -- to taste
    pepper -- to taste

    Recipe



    Peel and dice potatoes; cover with water, add salt, and cook
    until tender. Mash slightly. Cut bacon into small pieces, mix with onion, and sauté until bacon is crisp and onion is clear. Remove onion and bacon from drippings and add to cooked potatoes. Work flour into ground meat until it is in coarse crumbles; fry in bacon drippings until crisp. Add to potatoes. Stir in milk and season with salt and pepper. Heat just to boiling point but do not boil.
