    If you’ve chosen a Christmas ham, these flavorful biscuits make the perfect accompaniment. If you haven't, well, have them with whatever you're having!

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups sifted flour
    2 tablespoons baking powder
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup cold shortening
    1 cup milk
    1 1/2 cups mashed sweet potatoes

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease baking sheets. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Combine milk and sweet potatoes. Add to flour mixture, stirring quickly. Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly, using as little flour as possible. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with floured 2-inch biscuit cutter. Arrange biscuits on prepared sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until done. Servings: Makes 25.
