    HOMEMADE BAKED POTATO CHIPS

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

If you're just curious, or like making things at home, this recipe is for you.

    List of Ingredients

2 cups Betty Crocker Potato buds (do not substitute)
    1/2 cup all purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp salt
    1/3 cup canola oil
8 to 10 TBSP cold water

    Recipe

Mix together the first three ingredients. Mix together the oil and 8 TBSP cold water. Mix dry and wet ingredients together until it can be shaped with the hands into a stiff dough ball. Add as little additional water as possible to make the dough pliable enough to roll thin. Place dough between two sheets of waxed paper and roll as thin as possible. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Remove top piece of waxed paper. Bake at 350ø F. for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then remove the waxed paper and break into chip size pieces. Store in glass airtight containers, not plastic jars or bags. Makes a bunch.

If you wish to flavor them, when you remove them from the oven, lightly spritz the potato chip sheet with a vegetable oil spray, and immediately sift any desired flavor packet lightly over the chip sheet. A little goes a long way, so experiment until you find the right amount for you. As soon as the dusting is complete, return to the oven for 1 minute, then remove from oven as above.
