1 Pkg. or 1 T yeast
1 tsp. salt
4 c flour
1/2 c shortening (Crisco)
2 eggs
1/2 c sugar
Recipe
Dissolve yeast in 3T warm water. Place shortening and salt in 1 c boiling water. Let cool until lukewarm. Beat eggs & add sugar. Add lukewarm mixture and yeast. Stir in 2 c flour. Mix well & add enough flour so it has good texture. Place in bowl, cover & refrigerate overnight.
Cut dough in 1/2. Roll dough out into 2 rounds 1/4" thick- spread with butter, you can melt it or use softened butter, cut round into pie shaped wedges. Roll into crescents. Let rise 3 or 4 hours. Place on ungreased cookie sheet (I use parchment paper for everything!). Bake at 400 for 6 to 8 min or until golden brown.
