Egyptian rice

1 lb ground chuck (can use ground lamb)
1 small onion, chopped
2 cans beef consomme
2-3 Tbs soy sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1 cup raw rice
salt and pepper to taste
Brown hamburger & onion. Add remaining ingredients to the mixture. Cover and simmer until rice is done. To serve, put on top a dollop of yogurt or sour cream and sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds.
